There were delicious local wines and fierce competition at 2023’s Oklahoma State Fair Wine Contest. Each year, dozens of wineries and vineyards enter the contest with hopes of being awarded Best in Show in either the Amateur or Professional categories. This year, the coveted Best in Show title was awarded to the following:
Amateur – Best in Show – Red
- Cunningham Wines; Red Grape – Dry
Amateur – Best in Show – White
- Walker River Estate; White Grape – Dry
Professional – Best in Show – Red
- Vecinos Winery; Blended Red Vinifera
Professional – Best in Show – White
- Whispering Meadows; Fruit Wines (non-grape)
Whispering Meadows Winery also took home the Grand Champion Oklahoma award for their non-grape fruit wines. Likewise, C & H Vineyards was awarded the 2023 Max Knotts Award.
